For what it's worth, sorry to the two of you still looking here for updates. I've been up to my condiments in rice-a-roni, and so haven't updated this thing. Letting the hat out of the slag a little here, Mrs. I and myself have successfully put a contract in on our very own hut. It's got floors, windows, bathrooms, and everything. It's not ours yet, the loan needs to finish coming through (we've been assured it will,) and then we'll have to do this "settlement" hogwash at the end of March.
During this process thus far I've had in mind that I'd at some point start detailing everything about it. I could've done it real-time, detailing the gutwrenching stuff as it happened, but I didn't. I'm pretty sure that the reason I didn't do that was superstition, but maybe it was just a matter of not having the time. At any rate, I hope to say one or two things about the whole process once we sign those final papers.
