02.04.2004 squ From some direction or another I stumbled onto blogmatrix today. After having found the section with SquubLog in it, I then started perusing the other Squ weblogs listed. Here, for your humping enterfazement, is a list of the ones that I'm listing: Good reading at Squished Frog Productions. Very short, yet interesting posts from the UK at Squirrels Pinnacle. The guy running SquidLink seems to cast a similar shadow to mine -- from his about me bit: "I decided to set up this website because it combines my interests in writing, left-wing politics, arguing and computers." He's also just around my age. (Forget that "left-wing politics" part, when you're comparing our shadows; I'm a decidedly mid-forearm politicer, myself.) Unfortunately he seems to be vanished at the moment, after having recently quit his job. I almost ignored Squeaky Wheel Speaks because her first post is about joining a sorority. Which frightens me. A lot. But it turns out it's not a real sorority. So then I scrolled down and saw how each entry is in a box inside the entry that comes after it (above it.) Which is really weird. So there's that. An ex-boss of mine, who was undoubtedly named Carl-this-is-Carl, said stupid things. A lot. Once, when explaining something (I have no idea what he was explaining -- I probably didn't know then, in fact,) in the presence of a co-worker (who ended up having to translate the expression for me,) he said, "You know, the sqeak gets the thing." A more clever turn on that phrase is the name The Squeaky Weasel Gets the Grease. Very readable stuff. (Which means she probably wouldn't ever use the word "readable.") I like the header for Dog Door of Death, which, conspicuously, doesn't start with a Squ. (Note: please, when reading "Squ," be sure you read it out, not pronounce it "Ess Queue You," but, instead, "Squuh". Thank you. The MgMt-e.) No conspiracies or anything, don't worry. Just that the blog's listed on blogmatrix as "SQUARE PEGS, SQUARE PEGS... SQUARE PEGS!" for some reason. The site's weird to navigate, there doesn't seem to be a list of entries or anything of that sort. You have to use the "previous" thingies on the bottom of posts. I'm not reading much right now anyway, but let me say this: there are words there. |
